About Neuroher

NeuroHer is an initiative aimed to ensure that women and girls with neurological conditions are seen, treated, and represented equally in medicine and policy.

The field of neuroscience has been operating under the default assumption that the male brain is the standard for way too long. Driven by a desire to close the systemic gaps in care, a 15-year-old launched NeuroHer upon uncovering how deeply ingrained gender bias in neurology disproportionately hurts women, especially those in low-income communities. As an aspiring neurologist, she cannot accept a healthcare system that treats women’s pain as a less important. NeuroHer is her way of challenging that reality, a movement to expose these biases, highlight vital research, and unite young advocates around one simple truth: women’s neurological health isn’t a side issue, it’s a fundamental human right.
